A structured 3-day PADI Open Water certification programme in Havelock, covering theory, confined water training, and 4 open water dives — certifying you to dive independently to 18 metres worldwide.
The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the world's most recognised entry-level scuba certification. Over three days, participants move through classroom-based knowledge development, confined water skill sessions, and finally four open water dives in the sea under direct instructor supervision. Havelock Island offers suitable training conditions with warm water, stable reef systems, and manageable current patterns that allow gradual skill progression. Upon completion, you are certified to dive independently with a buddy within 18 metres, anywhere globally where PADI certification is accepted. This is a certification course — not a trial dive.
Course orientation, medical documentation, PADI knowledge development, equipment familiarisation, and confined water skill drills including emergency practice exercises.
Boat transfer to dive site for the first two supervised confined water dives with skill demonstration, controlled depth progression, and surface debrief.
Final two open water certification dives in the sea, buoyancy refinement, emergency skill evaluation, course completion debrief, and PADI certification processing.

You must complete either a 200-metre continuous swim (any stroke, no time limit) or a 300-metre swim using mask, snorkel, and fins, plus a 10-minute float or tread water. These are mandatory PADI standards required for certification.
A PADI medical questionnaire must be completed before the course. Certain conditions such as respiratory issues, cardiac conditions, pregnancy, or recent surgeries may require written clearance from a physician.
Yes. The PADI Open Water certification is the foundation for further courses including Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and eventually Divemaster.
Typically 2 students per instructor, ensuring close supervision and personalised training throughout the course.
If marine conditions prevent scheduled open water dives, sessions will be rescheduled to the next available safe slot. Partial course completion may require rescheduling of remaining dives.
